"For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."

– Romans 8:14

Imagine

Every now and then, there are those days that just tend to bring you down. Your car breaks down, you forget to bring your homework to class, you spill coffee on your shirt on your way to work. Everything seems to be going wrong.

When I find myself staring straight in the face of one of those days, I can't help but be discouraged at the thought of trying to make it through that seemingly unbearable 24 hours. And I'll be honest, I do let some of those days get the best of me. But something that brings me great hope in trying to tackle those days is the truth that this life is just a blink in comparison to the eternity Christ has planned for me. It says in James 4:14, "yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes." James poses a very important question here. What is your life, but a vapor that is here today and gone tomorrow?

Have you ever seen the fog on your windshield grow as your breath fills the car? As soon as you turn on the heat that fog disappears like Philip when he baptized the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8. Part of my reading plan today. If you don't understand the metaphor I'd advise you head there and study up youngn's). This life is too short to dwell on the bad days that may, and will indefinitely, occur.

In response to a friends blog post idea, I will be describing to you all what I think Heaven will be like. This will be shown through a series of "Imagine a place..." sentences listing what I know Heaven will and will not have.

(just on a side-note, I actually almost just typed "Close your eyes and imagine this..." but then realized you wouldn't be able to read if you had your eyes closed...so keep your eyes open and read this)

Imagine a place where there are no bad days; you are never late to class or work, your car never breaks down, and you never get stuck in traffic.
Imagine a place where there is no sickness; there is no depression, no anxiety, no stress, no stuffy-noses, no HIV, no cancer.
Imagine a place where you never have to worry about what another person thinks about you.
Imagine a place where there are no broken hearts or broken families.
Imagine a place where there is no hate, no anger, no selfishness.
Imagine a place where there is no addiction to alcohol, drugs, or pornography.
Imagine a place where there is always someone there to love you, no matter the mistakes you have made in your life.
Imagine a place without judgement.
Imagine a place where there is no discrimination.
Imagine a place free of the cares and concerns of this world.
Imagine a place where death has lost its sting and no longer has bonds over anyone.
Imagine a place where sin cannot exist.
Imagine a place that is perfect.
Imagine a place of eternal worship of the one true King of Glory.
Imagine a place of eternal paradise.
Imagine hearing the one true Lord say to you, "Well done, good and faithful servant. See that I have written your name into the Book of Life based on your faith in My sacrifice for you. Enter into the place I have prepared for you as an heir to the throne of God."
Imagine a place of eternal joy.
Imagine spending eternity in the company of the One that loves you beyond all comparison.

Now imagine spending eternity without some of your dearest loved ones, because you do not know where their heart stands. Imagine not being able to enjoy the eternal joy of Heaven with them.

This is a call to believers. Christ has given us a purpose on this world to spread His love through our actions and a genuine Christ-like love for others. Don't wait to share your faith and spread the love of Christ.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6.

Imagine eternity with them.
