"For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."

– Romans 8:14

Day One: Travel

Travel day. It can bring out the worst in people. It can get people at each others throats, increase tension during the trip and ultimately define the temperament of the entire mission. Fortunately for our team, that isn't the case. I honestly don't think we could have a better group going to Cambodia. Everyone is excited, smiling, and friendly to new conversations. I'll admit that going into this trip, I was a little worried about connecting with some of my teammates. But after flying over 18 hours with them, napping on the disgusting airport terminal carpeting and sharing two very long bus rides, all of my worries and doubts of the team have been blown out of the water.

I have to say that everyone has already been amazing and we haven't even landed in China yet! As you read this, we're currently on our connecting flight to China from Cambodia. You would think that we would come better prepared for a flight that lasted this long! I think we're on hour 10 right now and I'll be honest, it's been pretty tough. I've had wine spilt on me, my elbow and feet ran over by the drink cart, and the most uncomfortable naps of my life, but I don't think I would have it any other way.

When I think about how I might feel like I'm suffering or miserable, I can't even begin to compare myself to the disciples on their missions. Those men were facing death every time they strapped up their sandals. Each day they were sent to new places, filled with danger, persecution, closed hearts, and countless scoffers, but they never gave up. They never gave up because they knew that amongst the scoffers, the persecutors, and the closed-hearted, there was someone that needed to hear the truth of the Gospel and feel the love of Jesus Christ.

It's my prayer for the team and myself that we truly understand the role that God is going to put us in. He wants us to spread His love, serve those less fortunate than us, and be a light. But more importantly He wants us to plant seeds. Pray that we find the good soil to sow our seeds and not lose heart when the seeds rest in the thorns. Our God is able.

Day Two: Our Hearts Are Changed

We Are Expectant
